Pull Ups

I don't have a pull up bar and no smith machine or the likes to do negative pull-ups. I have been doing lat pulldown at 100 pounds for pull-ups section. I do 3 lat-pulldowns for every 1 pull-up....is this sound right or what should i do to compensate for the pull-ups....plan on joining a gym eventually but right now i only have a maching that has a lat pulldown....I think i can go up to 110 lbs for level 1 pull-ups....any thoughts on this matter???? Thanks
