Should I move to L2, or stay on L1 until I can do pullups?

Postby lungfish » Fri Oct 14, 2011 1:27 am

I have been doing simplefit for 4 weeks. I have reduced my D3 time by 50% and my D1 reps are up about 40%. I feel like I could add a few more pushups, and the squats I could easily increase. The problem is, I can't do a single pullup - I do them all assisted (standing on a bench). Should I keep going on L1 until I can meet the pullup quota, or just keep moving forward to L2?

I would recommend doing body rows. Push that chair away until your leaning back and pull up to the bar as far as you can. Keep pushing it out till your arms are hanging vertically and your pulling to the bar. Best way I know how to develop your pullup ability short of jumping pullups and a lot of negatives.

are you doing 3:1 subs?

fwiw it could be a very long time before you can do an actual pull up. i would go ahead and advance levels using the subs. im on level 4 and still doing subs (australian pullups/body rows)
