Simplefit buddy to keep me honest?

Postby osakajack » Sat May 12, 2012 6:56 pm

My brother and I were discussing ways to keep ourselves in check with our workout, so as not to cheat or skip days. He has his lovely bride who freely gets on him to keep to his workout goals. I use my google calendar notifications for work and my workouts but let's be real here: I ignore all my non-work related popups.

Here was the suggestion which culminated from the chat: have someone (a total stranger) on this here website be a workout buddy. That way that person and I would keep each other on task to do our workouts. My brother also suggested we keep it simple, such as a PM saying "worked out D1, diet" or tweet "D1 today" or "finished workout" with an @ to the buddy.

Would anybody be up for that? (Alternatively, if there is already a system like this in place, could I get in on it?)

You know what, I'll do it. I've just started on simplefit a week ago, and I'm only level 2...but it seems like this buddy system is a great idea...so, have you worked out today yet?

Short of having a friend to work out with, keeping a log and posting pictures of oneself are the best motivators. They keep you honest and show your progress.

If GCal notifications aren't working for you, consider logging your workouts by hand, in a little notebook. Keep it real!

I'm going to log in online, that really is the best way for me. I am just getting used to the system here.
