No but I'll try and keep track now. I imagine it was a couple percent more, but that's just a guess.

May 2, Bodyweight of 218, body fat % is 20%.

I think I sorta fibbed last week by reading the chart slightly wrong, I think I was closer to 21% last week.

So total change is +1 pound in weight, and a loss of (almost) 1% of body fat.

I wouldn't mind keeping this pace for a little while!

May 9, Bodyweight 214, fat 20%.

I sort of doubt that I lost 4 pounds of muscle in a week, so something must be up. It might have been the time of day that I measured myself. I'll have to be more careful from here on.

June 6: Weight 209, fat ~19%

Yay. 5lbs in 4 weeks seems standard.

Your body comp is probably shifting allot, looking at your performance gains I would guesstimate that you are losing fat and gaining muscle so you have probably droped more fat than the weight change sugests.

It certainly has. But from what I’ve learned through other web sites and books, is that you can’t build muscle and lose fat at the same time. You build muscle when you have a calorie surplus, and lose fat when you are in a calorie deficit (assuming you exercise). But you’re right, I’m seeing both at the same time. How can this be? Are those other sources wrong, or is this type of training somehow different?

It is possible just difficult we are doing functional fitness so things are a little different we are not putting on big cosmetic muscle we are adding mostly functional and core muscle. Allot of that type of research comes from the bb world and they are talking about putting on allot of muscle while cutting fat below 7%. What we see is more subtle. There is allot if data suggesting that IF is a good way to do both in unison I have successfully done both while using IF and zone zonish eating protocols using this type of training but that might not have been possible if I my body fat was around 7% at the time.

Is there somewhere I can read more about IF? I need more info before I consider trying it.
