Supplements

Postby volleyball_man » Sun Jul 29, 2007 5:45 am

Hey!

I just started taking fish oil supplement - I have never had such extreme gas in my life! Major bloating. I took the enteric coated capsule form after meals with huge glass of water.

I'd like to hear any advice on how to best avoid this.

Also - what supplements are good?

I'm kind of a purest on this - get it from food.

Thoughts?

Don't take capsules they are often rancid. I recommend Carlson's it is a liquid and tasts like lemon oil, can't taste the fish I have a link on the products page.

The other supplement I really recommend is magnesium I also have a link for one of the most absorbable forms around. Most people are low on magnesium especially if you exercise.

Thanks for the info.

I found a store here that carries the brand. I'll go check it out.

Edit: The same store carries Jarrow. I just ran out of whey so I'll take a trip to see them this week.

Ordered the Fish Oil from the products page (the store here was EXPENSIVE - twice the price). I've been taking it for two days now. Some gas issues but not anything like before.

I hope my body adjusts to it. I'll give it a couple of weeks.

The only supps I ever really used regularly were whey and a form of creatine. I used to add 5 grams of creatine monohydrate to my workout shake. I was using a whey isolate and gatorade powder with a 2:1 carb:protein ratio. Fish oil is the only other one that I would use regularly as well.
