shoutout to simplefit land! how y'all doin?

Pullups kipping dead hang to chin over bar. Pushups & squats strict full ROM.
After 7 weeks of scaled crossfit WODs, I'm throwing in a rest week, so instead of "cindy" today (basically L8D1) I decided to test myself on L3 to compare. A HUGE improvement.
First week of crossfit my time on L3D3 was over 8 minutes with all sorts of subs. Learning to kip properly has definitely helped my pullups - but still a pretty insane improvement. Time has dropped by more than 50% in 14 weeks, so I guess I've more than doubled my power output!
Overall looking and feeling great.
Some general thoughts about crossfit vs. simplefit, for those who care:
- The one thing I really love about xfit vs simplefit is the constantly-varied aspect of xfit, I find it really has a way of finding and targeting your weakest areas.
- My lower back has been getting a bit sore & stiff in the past week, probably from pushing myself too hard - I'm finding it a bit hard to keep myself from trying to progress too fast and aiming too high in the workouts. Xfit is full of insanely fit people that are really pushing themselves - it's very motivating but a bit dangerous! Rest week is already helping.
- I miss the community here at simplefit - I only posted here for 7 weeks but I still feel like I belong here. I'm posting a bit on Xfit but for the most part keeping quiet - it's a much more intimidating forum I think. Also, as a uber-left-wing west-coast Canadian some of the political commentary on rest day discussions just leave me shaking my head, but it's interesting to see how the other side thinks sometimes.
I've also been doing rough "eyeball" zone with lots of cheats for the past few weeks, but I'm planning on starting strict zone, as paleo as possible, next week & see how that goes for a few weeks. I'm starting to come around to this whole importance of nutrition thing.
My goal is to be able to do 70-80% of the xfit WODs as rx'd by next spring.
Simplefitters - keep fitting simply. I'll think of y'all with every pullup.
