I just read that to make it more interesting you can also assign different exercises to different suits and then do the required number of each. I'm starting to warm up to this idea.

That's a good idea. I have a tendency to build into a routine. I generally check crossfit for exercise ideas and throw them in my workout plans.

I just did something like this pretty similar a few days ago. It's in my workout log but anyways we did it like this...

Black = Squat
Red = Push up
Any face card = 5 burpees
Ace = 1

No jokers.

The burpees made it a bit challenging.

Here is another variation

Clubs = push ups
Spades = pull ups
Diamonds = evil wheel or planche
Hearts = squats
card value = number of reps
face card = 10
ACE = 15
