38 year old male, 5’9″, approx 197 lbs.
I’ve been meaning to get started with this for a few weeks now but between home renovations and the Canada Day looong weekend it never happened.
Pushups and squats aren’t much of a problem for me as they’ve been the core of my workouts for the past few months. Pullups however are not so good.
I decided to start with Level 2 and managed to complete 26 rounds of day 1. Most of the pullups were parallel grip and probably half a dozen or so wouldn’t have counted if I was being strict.
I followed it all up with 50 situps and tabatas on the stationary bike.

Thanks for the warm welcome!
L2D2 – 8:27
This included rest periods, not sure if thats the right way to time this one or not.
Followed it up with 50 situps and tabatas on the stationary bike which burned 24 calories according to the bike computer.July 12, 2007 at 2:47 am #111398
Subtract rest period out of your Day 2 time. It is a strength day, so the rest is to let your body recoup enough to complete the round straight through. I don’t think this is an issue for you, but none-the-less..July 13, 2007 at 4:18 pm #111399 Thanks Andy, I’ll remember that for next week. I can see where that rest period is gonna come in handy on the higher levels.
Over 3 minutes of that was pullups, all of which were broken into singles. Pushups/Squats were no problem.
I’ll move on to L3 next week. I was considering L4 but the pullups are really kicking my a** so probably better to progress one step at a time.July 13, 2007 at 7:21 pm #111400volleyball_manParticipant
Good job!July 16, 2007 at 5:42 pm #111401 L3D1 – 21 rounds
I was shooting for 20 so I’m pretty pleased. That one extra pullup per round really makes a huge difference!! Ouch! The first 10 pullups or so were pretty good form but it started to fall apart from there on. I think I can see myself sticking around at L3 or maybe L4 until I can do all the pullups with good form.
I followed it up with 50 situps but I’m wondering why I bothered. The pullups hammered my abs pretty good.July 18, 2007 at 5:53 pm #111402
L3D2 – 5:35July 20, 2007 at 4:28 pm #111403 L3D3 – 7:46
Pullups alone took over 5 minutes and were really sloppy compared to L3D2. I’ll blame the heat LOL. Pushups were broken into about 4 sets and squats were straight through. Looks like I’ll be sticking around at L3 for a while.July 21, 2007 at 3:41 am #111404
You are not ‘sticking around’ level 3…
You are making level 3 your bitch before you allow level 4 to challenge you.July 23, 2007 at 7:29 pm #111405
L3D1 – 24 rounds, up 3 rounds from last week
Pullups are still very tough but I think they’ve come a long way in the past couple of weeks. Most of these were all fairly decent form except for maybe the last couple of rounds.July 23, 2007 at 8:25 pm #111406taifunParticipant
Well done!July 24, 2007 at 12:58 am #111407 Nice work, that’s about a 15% improvement in one week!
