    Some background info…

    Age: 38

    Height: 5’9″

    Weight about 1.5 years ago – 217 lbs …probably got far worse before it got better, I gave up weighing myself after this.

    Feb 2007 – 207 lbs

    This is when I started getting serious about working out and eating “better”, but before simplefit. Had I tried I’m certain I wouldn’t have been able to do a single pullup with anywhere near decent form. I wish I’d taken a picture back then for comparison.

    July 9, 2007 – 197 lbs

    Started simplefit and got more serious about nutrition. Could just barely do a single pullup and I wouldn’t say the form was all that great.

    And where things are at now…

    August 1, 2007 – 192 lbs

    Down 5 lbs in just over 3 weeks and I’ve also gained a noticeable amount of definition in my arms and shoulders. Diet is now about 90% clean. I can now manage 2 pretty decent pullups in a row and significantly more if I break them up. I’d like to see 10 in a row, chest right up to the bar, by the end of the year. I’ll get some measurements taken tonight so I have something to compare to for next time.

    Weight is down 1lb to 191, not too worried about that though, fat is down and muscle is up and thats what really matters. Definitely need to buy new pants LOL!!

    max reps:

    deadhang, pronated pullups – 3 …almost had 4 but didn’t quite make it

    pushups – 30

    squats – 35

    situps – 32

    Figured I should do an update before I start gorging myself on Christmas junk.

    Weight is around the same – currently 194 lbs but I’m learning to not obsess about that.

    Body fat (tape measure method) is down to 16.3% (from around 20% in August). I was hoping that would be down a little bit more but I have my thyroid working against me so I guess thats not too bad.

    If I have time I’ll check my max pullups and pushups sometime in the next few days. The last I checked my pullups (deadhang, pronated grip) were at around 8, up from zero when I started in July.
