On day one of all the levels, I can’t seem to locate just how many rounds should be completed. I see it says max rounds but what is a good number to shoot for to complete in 20 min. ? Thanks in advance!

    Hi,

If you’re just starting you should try to get as many as you can and use that as your base. For example if you start with L1D1 or Level one Day one and get 15 rounds, the next time you should try to beat that.

That being said, if you get L1D3 in under 5 minutes you should move up a level.

In my experience I have found that as I get closer to 20 rounds or more that is when I usually see myself doing a sub 5 minute day 3.

I think it’s better not to shoot for numbers. In order to get the maximum benefit of the high intensity you need to actually do as many rounds as you can.

For example, last week I did 22 rounds. This week I finished 21 rounds with like 3 minutes left and my first thought was, “Oh good, I’ve got 3 minutes to do 2 more rounds and beat my record. That gives me a lot of rest time.” To me, that’s negative thinking. I caught myself and convinced myself to stop and just do as many rounds as I could. I did 24 rounds which is only one more than I would have done but 23 wasn’t the maximum number of rounds I could do and that would have been cheating myself. So whether you do 5 rounds or 35 rounds, just make sure it’s as many as you can do.

That’s interesting – I just started with L1D1, and got 35 rounds done. Now I’m curious as to what time I’ll make on day 3 :)

That will be interesting, keep us posted. My first week of L1 I did 28 rounds on D1 but D3 it took my more than 8:37. My second week of L1 I did 36 rounds for D1 and cut D3 to 4:33.

I think that shows the different types of focus each workout day gives us. The first week I clearly didn’t have a problem doing low reps multiple sets over time but doing each exercise for high reps quickly caused me to fatigue. The second week showed marked improvement in that area.

That was close but not quite the same for me. On L3D1, I got to where I was getting at least 20 rounds (most was 26), but it took me 3-4 weeks to get a sub 5 minute D3. Of course some of that might have been because I would miss at least 1 workout each week.

    I just took 2:34 for D3. I’ll go to L2 now.
