    I’m starting with L1D1 this evening.

    I’m 285 pounds, and woefully out of shape.

    I cannot do a pull-up. I started off on a chair , and kind of hung onto the bar, until I couldn’t hold on any longer (roughly 5 seconds).


    Welcome aboard. Stick with it, it gets easier. Good luck with achieving your goals! :)


    Did you try any of the substitute exercises? Working your way up to a pull-up may be safer than going full-out from the get go. I popped my knee a couple of weeks ago trying to “push it” and ended up unable to get up stairs for a couple of days, let alone workout.
