40 year old male
I’m not waaaaay out of shape, but certainly not where I want to be at this stage of my life. I found this site last week and couldn’t keep it off my mind, so here it goes. Today was my first day……
L1 D1…….managed 26 rounds. Pushups and squats were not a problem, but I’m sure I’ll feel it tommorow. I started out good with pull-ups, alternating grips each round. After about ten rounds I had to go to assisted, but wasn’t bummed because pull-ups have never been my strong suit—I hope this program can change that.
Wish me luck and Hi to all of you out there. Good health, KenFebruary 27, 2008 at 5:54 pm #115101
L1D2…….3:07 Felt really charged up today, did the first four rounds with no assist on pull-ups, last round just needed a bit. I am looking forward to day 3.February 27, 2008 at 7:12 pm #115102splintParticipant Good Job Ken,
I think my favorite thing about Simplefit is my pull-up improvement. After all the best way to get better at doing pull-ups is to do pull-ups.February 29, 2008 at 12:08 pm #115103
W1D3 Time……..2:26. Week one done! 5 pull-ups unassisted, the rest assisted. I’ve been doing cardio 4-5 days a week, and along with my first week of simple fit I’m feeling better physically and mentally than I have in quite some time.March 3, 2008 at 12:57 pm #115104 I have decided to stay at level 1 for another week to focus on my pull-ups.
Week 2 L1D1…..33 rounds in 20 min. Improved from last week. I alternated grips (hands facing me or away), and was able to do all reps facing, but after 11 away had to do jumping pull-ups(3 to 1). Cardio going strong 5 days a week; I am feeling better every day. KenMarch 4, 2008 at 4:29 am #115105ucffoolParticipant
Great work, keep it up!March 5, 2008 at 1:36 pm #115106davidmkParticipant Hey Ken,
I have started recently, too. You sound as if you are hitting it hard, which is great. I am trying to and will be soon.
It has been a long time since I exercised prior to starting simplefit, but it still seems that the way I feel after a workout now is better than it did before. Maybe I have forgotten or maybe it is the simplefit program and the whole body workout instead of the old isolation exercises.March 5, 2008 at 3:18 pm #115107
I definitely feel that the simplefit workouts have had a profoundly different affect on me. I was always doing traditional workouts in the past, isolating weight movements, etc…but never felt like I do after only a short time on simplefit. I’m on my second week of level one, day two today did the five rounds in 2min. 31 sec. I feel challenged every time I start, and I’m having fun. Working out isn’t a chore, and I’ve even been doing cardio 5 times a week(I never liked it in the past.) Good luck to you–stay motivated! KenMarch 5, 2008 at 3:20 pm #115108
Got a bit off track above, but here are my week 2 #’s:
L1D2….2min. 31sec. Progress!March 7, 2008 at 12:52 pm #115109
L1D3………….1:59.8 seven(almost eight!)unassisted pull-ups. They were not easy though. I am going to move up to Level 2 on Monday

After two great weeks of simplefit, I have a major case of the downers.
Sunday night feeling ill, today–sinus infection. Will probably be sidelined a few days.
I know better than to go at it while sick, but it’s hard to sit and do nothing after being so motivated. KenMarch 12, 2008 at 3:15 pm #115111UrupParticipant Sorry to hear that. Nothing worse that having to stall working out due to sickness. Get well soon..March 12, 2008 at 8:30 pm #115112 Thanks alot, I’m on meds and hopefully will start back with some light cardio tommorrow.March 13, 2008 at 10:31 pm #115113davidmkParticipant How are you today? I hope better.
I was sick a few weeks ago and the reading I did said to work out when you feel up to it, even if not completely better. It also said if a fever or infected below in the chest to not exercise, but you probably would not feel like it anyway, unless you are Michael Jordan or something.March 14, 2008 at 12:03 pm #115114
Thanks for asking; I’m feeling better and will probably start doing cardio today. I ended up having a fever on top of everything else, and was completely wiped out for 4 days. Will take it slow today, but can’t wait to get back into it. Seems like the longest time when you can’t work out. Thanks, Ken
