    Hi everybody. I consider myself to be in pretty good shape as I like to play basketball about 2 or 3 times a week along with a lot of pickup volleyball. However I’m clearly lacking in upper body strength. I was just wondering if with simplefit you should start with level 1 or if I could start on a higher level.

    I didn’t really even think about starting on level 1 and I began this week. I started with level 4 and completed 14 rounds on day 1 and took 11:32 on day 2. Should i drop down to a lower level or keep this up?

    With a time like 11:32 on D2, I am guessing that you are including your rest time. Rest time is not counted on D2. If 11:32 excludes your rest time, you should definitely go down a level.

    Since you are at L4 now, you might as well finish the week there.

    As for determining at what level you should be, the How to Get Started page offers this:

    Quote:

    If the workouts take longer than 30 minutes or less than 5 minutes, decrease or increase your level, respectively


    This applies in particular to D3. When your D3 time is below 5 minutes, you move up to the next level.

    Cheapo’s right about the protocol. I’d add that – since you have 14 as a score on D1, going down a level is probably not a bad idea.

    Also, you can just test D3 on any of the levels.

    Of course, you have freedom of choice!

    Thanks for the advice, I’ll see how D3 goes tomorrow. However the 11:32 on D2 was obviously not counting rest time as there are supposed to be 4 different sets of 3 minutes of rest (between round 1 & 2, 2 & 3, etc.) so that already would be 12 minutes without any workout at all. So it was looking to be around 2:30 per round.

    Heh. Good point!

    If you’re not sub-5 minutes on D2, you won’t be on D3.

    I am usually sub-5 on D2 long before I beat D3. Based on that, I’d say you should definitely drop down 1 level, probably 2.
