To get more protein in my diet I have been thinking about maybe trying out some protein supplements. I was wondering if anyone here has any advice on which to try out and more importantly, how exactly to fit them into your diet. Do you all feel they are even necessary? Thanks in advance for any advice.

ya, nothing against real food, just trying to get more protein in the diet. Maybe I’m aiming for too much protein though. I have read some recommendations of 1g per pound of body weight. So I weigh 178 lbs and 178g of protein seems like quite a bit. In just my normal diet though I get pretty close to that (~145) so I think I’ll run with that for a while and see what kind of results I get.

The zone calculators are a good place to start, based on your lbm.

About 70% of the non-fat mass of the human body is made of water. To function properly, the body requires between one and seven liters of water per day to avoid dehydration; the precise amount depends on the level of activity, temperature, humidity, and other factors. With physical exertion and heat exposure, water loss will increase and daily fluid

Just some food for thought too. All companies that sell stuff in a bottle have one goal. Make money. Extra protein in a diet hasn’t been proven to give you any extra edge unless you were already deficient. Your body will use protein based on need. If you follow the mantra of meat & fish, plenty of vegetables, some fruit, little starch, no sugar you should do fine.
