Hey everyone, I just joined the forums and am really enjoying everything offered on here! A little background on me; I just graduated college and am training to become an Air Force Pararescueman. I came across this website two days ago, and did my first workout today. I decided to start slow to see where I stand, so here’s what I did:
L1D1: 36 rounds…I did mix up grip on the pull ups, primarily more pull ups than chin ups though.May 5, 2007 at 12:03 am #108959
Welcome!May 7, 2007 at 11:54 pm #108960 The first workout was a test to see where I stand…
Here is today’s workout:

you will be soreMay 11, 2007 at 2:43 pm #108962
I’ve been out of it for the week but I made it back. I added a 20 sec plank in addition to the pull-ups, push-ups, and squats. I rested for 3 minutes in between, but this is the total time minus resting:
L1D2 – 2:38 minMay 11, 2007 at 2:50 pm #108963
Nice work, the plank is a great exercise.
Welcome back!May 14, 2007 at 7:13 pm #108964
Feels like I’m slacking on when I get my workouts done, so it’s time to step it up…the pull-ups killed me. L2D1 will start on Wednesday.
L1D3: 2:02 minMay 16, 2007 at 9:11 pm #108965
I added a 15 second plank, and figured I’d be able to do that all the way through, but made to 8 rounds before I dropped the plank…
L2D1: 28 roundsMay 17, 2007 at 2:34 am #108966
yeah, plank is probably better for day 2 and 3May 17, 2007 at 3:47 pm #108967samjacksonParticipant Day 1 is a killer. As Kevin says, integrate the plank into the other two days, of even the off days if you want.
I would also extend you planks to 1 full minute, which you can do if you create full muscle tension throughout your body. Try it and let us know how you do.May 17, 2007 at 9:30 pm #108968
Good call on the extension to 1 minute…I’ll do that as well as add it to day 2 and 3. Thanks guys.May 19, 2007 at 10:44 pm #108969 Here’s my L2D2. What I did was finish off the rest of the minute with a plank. For example: For round 1, it took me 40 seconds to complete, and I did a plank for the remaining 20 seconds to total 1 minute. The time here is shown without the 3 minute rest or planks added.
L2D2: 3:28 min.
Ran 2 miles: 13:00 min.May 19, 2007 at 11:34 pm #108970
Good active rest
nice jobMay 26, 2007 at 12:39 am #108971
I finally got some time to do the workout…does anyone know what some good techniques or workouts are to increase pull-up stamina? I can only do about 6 before I get tired and loose grip which causes me to keeping having to rest for a few seconds and then get back on.
Run – 2.5 miles – 19:50
L2D3 – 3:48 minJune 1, 2007 at 1:58 am #108972
Added in 3 sit-up type exercises, I can’t remember what they were called. Also ran about a mile and then jumped into the workout with little rest which smoked me throughout the workout…
L3D1: 17 rounds
