    Keep your head up in the push-ups.

    A push-up is a race between every part of your front (chin, chest, groin, thighs) to see which will touch the ground last.

    (Not that I don’t sacrifice ROM for a few reps in every workout.)

    That’s right.

    In my comment when I said 85 – 90% (or whatever) I realize when I get near the end I lose form a bit. We try not to.

    Range of motion. Not doing a full ROM on an exercise is usually cheating: for instance, not squatting deep enough doesn’t tax your muscles the way a correct, full-ROM squat would, so it’s easier (which means pointless).

    In weightlifting, not doing the full ROM can also be dangerous (because you don’t achieve lockout), I guess.
