Hi there,
I'm new here. I've always had a big problem gaining weight. I've always been super slim. I'm 6'2 and 73Kg (about 160 pounds). So yes im very skinny.
I've found that by weight lifting I can get stronger but I never seem to really to look/get bigger.
Ive recently started doing the simple fit exercises instead of normal weightlifting and eventually want to start on crossfit.
I've started today on a paleo based diet, no dairy/starch based/wheat etc etc.
I was also told that many repititions of an exercise didnt build muscle (example: many pressups/pullups). So i'm just wondering how possible it is to gain mass with simplefit/crossfit..
Thanks and nice to meet you all!
Sam
Paleo diet + simplefit/crossfit = possible to gain weight?

I have way more experience with dropping weight I would post that question on the performance menu, Robb Wolf is a dietary genius and has personal experience with your situation.

I have added some more strength centric workouts if you want to build mass but don't want to lift weights this and LOTS of food/rest should do the trick.

I can't say precisely with simplefit; though in my experience, as long as you eat a LOT of protein, say 1g/pound of body weight, plus a bit more calories than your body normally needs, and if you exercise consistently, you will gain muscle. Gained 20 pounds that way in the last 2 years and believe me it's tough for me!
EDIT : I feel it important to say that I primarily lifted weights during the time I gained that weight. However, I don't see any reason why simplefit wouldn't work just as well. It might be just a little slower, but the strength and endurance is all functional; you'll notice a difference in your everyday movements much more than with dumbbells strength workouts IMO.
Nutrition is 80% of the results and exercice 20%, but both need to be there for results to happen!

Re: Paleo diet + simplefit/crossfit = possible to gain weigh
Old post but im digging it up, physical activity plus healthy calories equals muscle. What are healthy calories?, depends on who you ask. Reps build muscle but too many in a set won't do a thing.

Thanks for the post!

I can say that from my experience if you eat the calories the gainz will come, even if all you do is simplefit. Now you can definitely put on weight with paleo and crossfit as well or lose it all depends on how you eat and train.
