Dear members,
Simplefit.org is a labour of love. Much like the workouts, maintaining is simple but requires effort.
The community has been using phpBB forums since it's inception 15 years (!!!) ago.
It's time to move on to something more modern and maintainable.
In this spirit, the main site was migrated to Wordpress a while back. Since then, we've been trying out different approaches to themes, structure, ad policy, etc. This is still ongoing, but it has come very far already. It makes sense to use a more compatible forum system, to minimize maintenance and maximize a consistent experience.
As such, we are migrating phpBB to bbPress.
You can see the ongoing migration test efforts here:
https://www.simplefit.org/forums
We are still working on the user login and management parts of this, so bear with us. More details coming soon.
The plan is to disable posts and registrations on the old boards from 1 Jan 2022 onwards.
The migration should import all posts from the community into the new system, but we will keep the old board around for nostalgia.
We look forward to your feedback on the new forums, the new theme and any other ideas on how to improve the Simplefit community and experience.

Re: Changes coming to Simplefit.org
New forum wont let me login or sign up new account.
Re: Changes coming to Simplefit.org
Been trying to fix this, but seems the migration scripts don't handle the passwords from the old forum to the new one. Maybe that's a good thing.
The obvious workaround is to reset your password on the new forum, using the email you used to register in the old forum.

Re: Changes coming to Simplefit.org
Here's an update on the forums migration, for anyone still tracking this.
For some reason, it's no longer possible to migrate all the posts and users from phpBB to bbPress. The previously used solution no longer works, probably due to a recent update to bbPress.
For now, and until the migration solution is proven to be working, we will keep the current forums as is.
There are alternatives, such as locking the old board and inviting any new/returning users to register again in the new board. This was not quite the "frictionless" migration we were looking for.
We appreciate any feedback from the community, and will continue working on maintaining and improving simplefit.org.
