Saling4 (Newbie log)

Post by saling4 »

Started today with Level 2 Day 1 and did 51 rounds in 20 min. Is that enough, not enough , normal? I am 53 years old and quit smoking 6 months ago. I run about 90-100 miles a month. So let me have it, Should I back up to week 1 or ?

Thanks ahead of time

Hi and welcome saling4,

Provided your form is correct, 51 rounds at L2D1 is excellent IMHO !

Definetly stick to L2 and do D2 and D3. The decision is based on D3 time.

Don't hesitate to ask questions on the forum.

I read (I think) that if I can do D3 under 5 minutes then it is time to move to next level if not then stay. Does this sound right?

Yes, If you can do 13 pull ups followed by 26 push ups followed by 26 squats in less than 5 minutes then you are ready to move up.

51 reps on D1 sounds incredible.

I suspect you will be way, way under 5mins on D3 and so you may want to consider skipping a level or two.

Just my two pence (we don't have cents over here!).

Okay 1 more "Maybe you should skip" and I will attempt Lvl 3 Day 3 Tomorrow.

Now remember I am an old guy at 53, but i do have a slight competitive bone.

welcome to SF saling!!!
i reckon if you can do a sub 5 min D3, you should skip L3 and go straight to L4. 51 rounds for D1 suggests that the lvl is way too low for you.

Wow, it looks like it was close!

Seriously though, 51 reps on D1 meant you were never in danger on D3.

Enjoy L4, L3 is beating me (but then I could only manage <30 reps on D1!!!)

Thanks Quiote I will give it a shot starting Monday. I think that for Friday I will do L3 D2 just to do something before Monday.
