Week 8

Skipped last week's D3 due to schedule. I felt like I needed the break too.

L4D1 19 rounds officially. I got in the pushups and squats but two very underachieving pullups therefore not quite 20. I felt pretty good this go round. I got 12 in the first 10 minutes but only 7 the next ten minutes, so I really ran out of gas down the stretch. One better than last week, but not a PR.

Thanks for the encouragement Ruli.

Week 8

L4D2 (Thursday) was done in 4:40
(I'm going to list the times per round as reference from now on.)
Round 1: 52.5
Round 2: 55.6
Round 3: 56.5
Round 4: 56.8
Round 5: 58.7

Even though I haven't been recording my round times from the beginning, I do know that this is the first L4D2 with every round below a minute. First time in a long time that I did not feel my elbow during a simplefit workout. I'm hoping that means I can stop thinking about it.

On another note, This week I decided to lift some iron for the first time since I started the simplefit program. I worked out Wednesday and felt great even though I may have overdid it a bit. So I worked out 4 days in a row this week and have not gotten L4D3 in yet. I'll try to get it in Sunday. I want to figure out a way to integrate some iron into the Simplefit program without overtraining. I really enjoy the way it makes me feel but don't want to workout sore everyday. Conundrum? Maybe.

Ok, so I skipped Week 9 workout for various reasons. I did do some barbell work during the week though. Realized that I haven't lost any stregth during this time although my bench was down a bit.

Week 10

Skipped L4D1 D2.

Decided to do L4D3 since I couldn't get to the gym today. Hadn't planned to seriously pursue it but after doing 11 pullups in a row (previous PR was 7), I decided to go for it. Got done in 5:26, much better than my previous D3. Don't know how much simplefit I will do next week, but it's good to know that I am progressing again.

Week 11

L4D1: 22 rounds (P.R. +3). I felt good today. My strength was great but my endurance let me down again. I felt like I could squeeze out 25 but I ran out of gas the last five minutes and fell off of the pace that I had set. Happy for the 3 round improvement over last time though for sure. That off week that I took appears to be paying dividends.

Ok, so it's been a while since I've posted anything on the board. I haven't done a full week's worth of Simplefit workouts in a while (until this week, that is) and I've decided to stop timing the Day 2 strength workout. As for Day 1, I have really struggled with it. My progress has really plateaued for that day. But I digress. I believe that this is Week 16 so:

Week 16:
So my schedule and the weather kept me from the gym so I ended up doing a full week's worth of Simplefit workouts this week.
L4D1 - I managed 20 rounds (P.R. - 2). This is definitely my weak point. I guess I just have to deal with it.
L4D2 - I managed to eke out weighted pullups for the first 3 rounds (+25lbs.). That made the workout quite a bit more difficult. Again, I didn't time it. I find that when I time it, I rush through the pullups but I really want to concentrate on doing dead-hang pullups regardless of the time.
L4D33 - 4:46! This is only the third time that I've tried L4D3 over all these weeks and I'm happy that I could post a sub 5 minute D3.

Another week of bad winter weather kept me home so I dove back into Simplefit.

Week 25: (Last week)
I started where I left off with Level 5, so this is my first time doing L5 w/o's.
L5D1 - I eked out 14 rounds my first time. Very dfficult with that extra pullup
L5D2 - I did it but did not record my times

Week 26: (This week)
L5D1 - Beat the previous week's workout by 3, so 17 rounds here. 51 pullups in 20 minutes seems like a massive amount of pullups given where I was when I started Simplefit.

Week 26:
L5D2: Again, I did not time this day. Performed all reps with good form. I think previously I had been giving myself too much recovery time (5 min) instead of 3. When I took 3 min, the workout became progressively more difficult.

L5D3: Finished in about 5:05. Pretty good time given I have not done a D3 in a couple of months. My form with the pullups could have been better but I'm really happy with the time. I'll try to improve the form while reducing the time going forward. I was definitely exhausted afterward though. I was sucking wind for a good 10 minutes after the workout.

Week 27
L5D1: Performed 19 official reps this day with one that I almost finished (couldn't get my chin above the bar on the 3rd rep but finished the pushups and squats) but can't add the 20th to the official total. Improvement over PR of +2.

L5D2: Skipped. Missed the window for this w/o.

L5D3: 5:09 About the same as last week. Hope to improve that next week.
Pullups - 14-6-3-2-1
Pushups - 31-10-5-3-2
Squat - 30-21

Way to progress man!

We started about the same time and your already closer to beating level 5 than I am with level 4.

Thanks Slacke. I appreciate the kind words. You're killing your D1 workouts so I'm sure you'll get there. Personally, I think mixing up the Simplefit workouts with some heavy lifting has helped me progress faster than doing Simplefit by itself.

Week 28 (Rest Week)

L3D1: 30 rounds (PR +10) While I certainly didn't exhaust myself the way I did with last week's L5D1, this did not feel like rest. I've only done L3D1 once so the PR may be a bit skewed but I'm happy with it nonetheless.

L4D2: Again, did not time this w/o but tried to focus on my form and use slow and controlled movements throughout.

L4D3: 2:05. It felt good to finally dominate a D3. 28 weeks in and this is the best I've felt during a D3 w/o. Let's see if I can carry this dominance into L5D3...

Week 29 Sick all week

Week 30

L5D1: After a week of being sick, I tried to take it easy and managed 19 rounds. Was very tired after.

L5D2: Same deal as always here.

L5D3: 4:53. I barely made it, but I made it even after that lost week. Onto Level 6!
