Congrats on your time, thats awesome. You have more patience than I do, when I can move up, I'm moving up! Its always interesting to see how people do the same system so differently. I always like to use day 3 to push my max up. Yeah, I do drop off dramatically after my max, but thats what happens I guess when there is zero rest between sets.

More great progress. It will be interesting to see how level 7 starts out when you have really mastered L6, instead of just squeezing by.

I wonder if it would be possible to master the next level just by doing the previous level? That is, suppose you got to where you could breeze through L6D3 in 2 or 3 minutes. Would you then be able to also do L7D3 in 5 minutes?

@ KTG I think that would probably work. In the higher levels the gaps between levels arent so big, so you could probably skip one if you tried hard enough. On the other hand, I think that the endurance would continue to improve, but you would be sacrificing some strength that comes with the increased work load of another level.

Level 6 Week 1

Post by brmc72 »

So, after almost a year off of the boards, I'm back at it. Here's hoping that posting my results to the forums will help to keep me accountable and motivated. Back before I stopped doing Simplefit regularly, I was technically able to move onto level 7 (finished level 6, day 3 in 4:37), but I chose to stay on level 6 for a while and focus on form (and possibly increasing the difficulty of each exercise) vs. just trying to do everything quicker.

So, that brings us to today:

Level 6, Week 1, Day 1: 28 rounds in 19:40.
Today was brutally hard. Having said that, though, 28 rounds is only 2 shy of my previous pr of 30 rounds. I'm totally happy with these results!

brmc72,
Welcome back! I hope you progress past where you were quickly. Good job on your 28 rounds. I did the same on my previous L6D1 workout, now all I need to do is beat the 5 minutes for the judgement day. I'm glad to see more people on the forums. I feel like im talking to myself sometimes lol. But I hope you have a great day!

Thanks chongtxtx! Yeah, the boards seem kind of quiet these days...hopefully things will start picking up. Nice to know that there's someone else plugging along at the same level :)

Awesome job on your Day three, you destroyed my time. Were you working out pretty consistently before you came back to Simplefit? Keep it up, and have a great day!

Level 7 Week 1

Post by brmc72 »

Ok, on to level 7! On paper, the jump from level 6 to level 7 doesn't seem like it should be that big of a deal but, man, day 1 was brutal. I could really feel the fatigue setting in much earlier than I was expecting. All in all, I'm happy with the results although my form was pretty crappy towards the end. Next week I think I'll sacrifice some rounds in an attempt to keep my form from deteriorating.

I felt pretty strong during day 2 today. This has always been my favorite day...nice focus on strength, but still feeling like the heart is working.

Day 1: 23 rounds in 19:49
Day 2: 6.08
Day 3: 7:35

Holy crap, that sucked (in a good way)! Almost half of my total time was spent getting the 40 pull-ups done. I had to break the push-ups into 3 sets (40, 20, 20) and took a quick break halfway through the squats. Looks like I'll be spending a while here at this level :)
