So I've been doing simplefit for a year or so. I think I'm at level 6 but am not sure. Here are some specifics I have concerns about:
1. Got 21 sets in for L6D1 this past one. By the 20th set I'm struggling to do 6 pushups in a row, usually I can do 4, then drop to my knees for like 5 seconds, then bust out the last 2. Does this count?
2. Been measuring rest time on day 3 workouts. Got 11:46 as my time for last week. By the third set I can do like 15 pushups in a row at most, I end up taking breaks on my knees in order to finish the pushups. Should I stop measuring rest time here?
3. This is where I hit pushup fatigue hardest, day 5 workout. I can do like 25 at most in a row. I read I shouldn't be training to failure? Am I doing this all wrong?
Should I drop back down to like level 4 and aim for better pushup endurance?
Anyways, any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Am I doing this right?

Yes, definitely. Slowly, you will reach continuous pushups in 20th set, and then 21st set, and then 22nd set....

Is your 'day 3' the second day of the regimen? I am not sure what you mean by 'measuring rest time'. What is expected is, you hit the start timer button, do the first round of pullups, pushups, and squats, and hit the stop timer button. You may have taken brief pauses in the first round to catch your breath but the timer keeps running. You stop the timer only after the first round is completed. Then, you take at most 3 minutes rest and then start the second round and time that round.

My opinion is that it is okay to do the max reps in the first round. I think 25 is the appropriate number. I reached 25 reps in the first set on the judgement day. I take 5 to 10 seconds and do 10 more. I take 5 seconds rest and do 4 more. And then 2 more. That is how I complete my 41 in L4. When I reach higher rounds, I am planning to keep the first set at 25 and build up the second set to 20 and third set to 15 and so on. I would not drop back to L4 if I were your position. I would continue to focus on building up sets. It may take 3 months or 6 months, just keep at it and muscles tend to build up very slowly.

Re: Am I doing this right?
1. Yes, it counts.
2. On Day 3 (L6D3) you shouldn't measure rest time. On Day 3 the clock never stops, as JK said.
3. Day 5? What the heck is Day 5? Simplefit only has 3 days (D1, D2 and D3). Please explain.
Training to failure should be avoided but you will be reaching failure sometimes, is inevitable. Don't worry about it. As for pushup endurance, you will develop it naturally, as you stick to the program. Don't drop levels if you can beat D3 from previous level, it's that simple. That's why it's called simplefit. Otherwise it would be called complicatedfit.
Keep up the good work!

Re: Am I doing this right?
Thanks for the feedback guys!
Yeah I mean Day 1,2,3 not 1,3,5, was going off that cuz it's Monday Wednesday and Friday.
OK Cool, so my Day 2 times should be way lower but realistically I don't pause during the sets, I try to decrease my rest time in between them.
Maybe I have some slight pausing during the set I'm not aware of, but I've consistently been lowering my rest time for day 2. If I rested 3 minutes in between each set it would add 12 minutes, but I can finish all 5 sets in ~11:20 now.
