A Simplefit Beast
About me:
Turning 30 this year. Have a toddler and twins on the way. I wanted a workout that gives me all over general fitness as a baseline, that I can add to as time permits and goals are setup. My chief goals this year are to lose fat, complete Simplefit level 8, and rep out 100 burpees in under 5 minutes. Hopefully the burpee goal will aid with those first 2 goals. I have to say Cheapo's progress was a massive inspiration for me, hope he's still smashing his fitness goals somewhere.
Not sure if anyone here has ever completed level 8? Seems like a good goal to shoot for though.

L5 D3 - 03.31
Burpees - 73
Started off at level 5 to see where I am. Smashed it, now onto level 6.
Burpees are done in a 5 minute time limit. 73 beats my previous score so pleased enough. They are killer.
Finished off with curls and more pushups.

Re: A Simplefit Beast
Welcome back! Congrats on the twins, keep us posted when they arrive.
Even more impressive, you smashed level 5 and the 5 min 100 burpees. SimplefitBeast sounds like an understatement.

Re: A Simplefit Beast
'A Simplefit Beast' is definitely the goal, don't think I'm anywhere near that yet but thank you! I will consider myself worthy of the title once completing level 8
The burpees are super shattering. 100 in 5 minutes feels a long way off but hopefully hit it in the next few months. Conditioning will be through the roof!
Are you updating the simplefit website?

L6D1 - 35 rounds
Burpees - 75
Had time for sone more reps but not a full round. I have a feeling that if you canget over 30 rounds on day 1, then you should pass that level. We'll see....
Rested 10 mins before burpees... got 75 reps. Reps were alot less smoother than last time, but I didnt cut it all into 'mini-sets' of 5 reps or so. Instead this time I just focussed on constantly moving.
Reps looked good to start, with a minimal jump due to ceiling height. By the end each rep is simply flop to floor, then pop up to standing with a tiny jump and tapping forehead with hands. Shattering, but still progress.
I need to focus hitting more reps in my first 'set' in the burpees. I usually manage about 35 reps and then its a hard slog from there as I lose my flow.
Then I did some pushups and curls. Dont know if thats counterproductive or not.

L6D2 - 07.58
Burpees - 76
I do the day 2 workouts with no rest between rounds, I'll just be timing the total length. Thought my time was slow and sloppy today! Burpees were bad. Should have got a couple more.
Did some pushups and curls after but thought whats the point? Also has anyone got to level 7 or above by only using the Simplefit program..?

Bit of a different workout today as I'm on holiday. Went for day 3 workout but pullups were done off a balcony ledge. Still, got to get faster! Then I did death by pushups.

Re: A Simplefit Beast
Yesterday I did something different too (still on holiday), I went for a run.
I started thinking that perhaps trail running looks cool and maybe I should just get into that.
It is cool, and if I wasgoing to run, then that is the 'niche' I would like to get into. But to sacrifice upperbody developmemt for it...? No. It just didnt feel right.
I like running. I want it as a goal inthe future but I need to think of it as a secondary goal, ir an optional goal.
I got home and I looked in the mirror and thought to myself 'what does this body need to improve?'
The answer wasnt long slow endurance based cardio / big runs.
It needs high intensity calisthenics.
Perhaps I need to ramp up the volume in some way.
I also need to start focussing on my diet more when I get back home....

Went for best of both worlds today. Simplefit, then straight into Couch to 5k:

Definitely apparent on the strength days that pushups are my weakness.
Then 30 mins running.

Gutted, so close. Really thought I had it this time.
Running goals this year:
1. Run 5k
2. Halve my 5k time OR run 10k
Though really Im still unsure as to whether cardio or extra calisthenics are best for my main goal...

So close. Deffo cheated lr had sloppy form on a few reps but hard not to at intensity.
Questioning the running.

Beat last weeks. Still questioning the running as a secondary goal/assistance to beating Simplefit.
