brmc72’s log…phase 2

Post by brmc72 »

Hi all,

I’m a returning SimpleFitter…looking at my old logs (under the “Brmc72’s log” thread), it looks like it’s been 8 years since my last post. Looks like I was struggling through level 7 when I was last here. Now, I haven’t been completely sedentary during that time, but regular exercise hasn’t really been something I’ve focused on. I turned 50 this year, and I’m realizing that exercise isn’t something I need to do simply in order to get stronger, but is something I need to do to prevent active deterioration

Anyhow, I’m back and I’m going to try to get back in the habit of regular training. It seems like there’s not much activity on the SF boards these days, but hopefully there are a few members out there that are actively posting!

So, here’s day 1, level 1 (I have no idea where I’ll ultimately end up, so I figured I’d start back at the beginning): 33 rounds

Hey mate,

There is basically zero activity here. Pretty sure I was the only one posting here for like a year and now I've stopped logging online too! It is a great program, with a bit of tweaking and flexibility in customising, just needs more publicity really.

Best of luck with it though. I've been training with it for a while now :)

I've just completed level 8 Day 3 in 10 minutes so now carrying on with a weights vest. I think it's not possible to complete the L8D3 workout in 5 minutes, as you'd need to be doing 1 rep every second(ish). I felt 10 minutes was a decent enough level cardio wise, and now I can move onto doing it weighted. Personally I think that's what the Day 3 progression should be set at instead.

Level 1 Day 2

Post by brmc72 »

While the exercises themselves weren’t particularly difficult, I was really sore from day 1, so I took today nice and slow. Still, I finished all five rounds in 4:05. Im hoping that once my body gets back into the swing of these kinds of exercises I’ll be able to move through the lower levels pretty quickly, but for now I’ve just gotta take it slow and let my poor muscles adapt :P

Bummer that the forum’s aren’t really active anymore…the community participation was a great aspect of this program my last go around. Nice job on completing level 8…that’s huge! I agree, 5 minutes is probably not practically attainable.
