Re: Rosencrantz1's log
W5 L6 D3 - 4:33, a :40 improvement over last time at this level/day. I will say that my form on the pull-ups was not stellar, especially near the end. I did do a solid set of 15 straight through to start, though, which felt pretty good. Push-up and squat form was pretty good throughout.
I'm moving on to level 7 next week, but definitely feel like I need to keep dialing in my form on the pull-ups.

Terrific! That's a real inspiration! I expect I have several more months of work at L6, so I hope to see you pushing on to L8 by the time I get to L7.

Re: Rosencrantz1's log
Thanks, KTG. I have no idea how long L7 will take me. It doesn't SOUND like a lot more over L6, but I am pretty sure it will FEEL like a lot more. A lot more.

Re: Rosencrantz1's log
W1 L7 D1 - 24 rounds. I switched it up and used a neutral grip on the pull-ups (palms facing each other, about shoulder width apart). Definitely struggling with 4th rep on the later sets. Also, I didn't feel like I was able to push myself to my max today - a little tired, etc. - so I'm hoping to add a few more rounds next week to this day.

W1 L7 D3 - 8:14. For some reason, I was really struggling with the pull-ups today. I also didn't do a D2 this week, due to my schedule.
Re: Rosencrantz1's log
That's a great start on L7! Already faster than my L6D3!

Thanks, KTG. I think I'll improve a bit next week, but then I foresee a while at L7!

W2 L7 D1 - 26 rounds. Was actually a little draggy today - didn't get as much sleep last night as I had hoped. Still, a two-round improvement over last week, so that's good. Trying to do slightly closer-based push-ups for D1 now - hands directly under shoulders, with elbows bend back along sides.

W2 L7 D2 - 8:41. Still doing chins/diamond pushups for this day. Strict 3-min rests between sets.

W2 L7 D3 - 7:26. Knocked :48 off my time from D3 last week. Still felt like pull-ups weren't going all that well. I would love to be able to do them in fewer sets of more reps, but I pretty quickly drop to 2-3 pull-ups per set after my first set or two. (shrug)

Re: Rosencrantz1's log
W3 L7 D1 - 27 rounds, one round improvement over last week. Much better form all the way around today. Still, I feel myself hitting the wall a bit with this. I think in some ways, it's tougher mentally than physically. I find it hard to push the button on the timer and get started, knowing it's going to be such a challenging 20 minutes. I might be getting to the point where I take an extended break from SimpleFit and try something else for a while - I'm considering Convict Conditioning.

Since you may considering doing something different than SF here's something to look at:

You may have seen this already, but my brother in law is a police officer and he has been working on this program on and off and he likes it. Although it doesn't provide the conditioning that SF does in my opinion.

W3 L7 D3 - 6:48. That's a 38 second improvement over last week, and almost a minute and a half improvement over my first week at level 7.
I'm tired, though - I will likely drop it back next week to L3 or L4 as a recovery week.
